
TEXAS FIRST SURGICAL RESIDENCY TRAINING PROGRAM FOR PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS
Our program provides comprehensive training across multiple surgical specialties with a proven track record of growth, particularly for recently graduated physician assistants from accredited PA schools. ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDERS
Obtain and review patients’ medical histories
Examine patients
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as x rays or blood tests
Diagnose a patient’s injury or illness
Research the latest treatments to ensure quality of patient care
Provide treatment, such as setting broken bones, stitching wounds, and immunizing patients
Educate and counsel patients and their families on a variety of issues
Prescribe medication
Assess and record a patient’s progress

CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION
Texas Physician Assistants must complete 40 credits of CME every 24 months to maintain a Texas medical license. The credits may be earned in formal or informal CME activities of which two (2) credits in formal CME must be designated for ethics and/or professional responsibility content.
